Joe Webb: There is a great story in the NYTimes, “In Jury Selection for Hate Crime, a Struggle to Find Tolerance” (March 9) about the difficulty of finding objective jurors for a murder trial involving Whites and Hispanics. One Marcelo Lucero was an Ecuadorean immigrant (legal or illegal, NYT neglects to say) who was stabbed to death in Patchogue, an hour’s drive from Manhattan, allegedly by a Jeffrey Conroy (White?). They are having lots of trouble finding race/immigrant neutral jurors.
Last week, after three days of jury selection, about 130 men and women were questioned by the judge, the prosecutor and Mr. Conroy’s defense lawyer here in State Supreme Court. Only five were selected; the rest were excused. …
At times, the jury selection had the feel of a call-in show on talk radio, as men and women sounded off on illegal immigration, hate crimes, their ethnic background and the American dream. Most of the comments made by potential jurors came in response to questions asked by Justice Doyle in a third-floor courtroom of the criminal courthouse in Riverhead, as Mr. Conroy sat motionless in a dark suit at a table next to his lawyer. …
“It is a little bit of a glimpse into the soul of a community,” Bruce Barket, a Long Island defense lawyer and a former Nassau County prosecutor, said of the comments being made in this case so far. “These kinds of issues and these kinds of tensions are always present in the courtroom. Race is probably the most dominant unspoken factor in ALMOST EVERY TRIAL [my emphasis].”
Besides the issue of how hard it is to find jurors, there is the other general issue of a “jury of one’s peers.” In a racialized society, how can Blacks, Whites, and Mexicans ever be expected to be objective? When Bill Clinton’s White minority blessed future arrives, go to trial White, go to jail.
Needless to say DIVERSITY MAKES US STRONGER. This unfortunate situation is just a temporary deal. We will all get over it, learn how to get along, and march into the brilliant rainbow future a country which has overcome its racialist past and becomes the first country in the North to achieve a White minority.

Nearly half of the nation’s children under 5 are racial or ethnic minorities, and the percentage is increasing mainly because the Hispanic population is growing so rapidly, according to a census report released today.
Hispanics are the nation’s largest and fastest-growing minority group. They accounted for 49 percent of the country’s growth from 2004 to 2005, the report shows. And the increase in young children is largely a Hispanic story, driving 70 percent of the growth in children younger than 5. Forty-five percent of U.S. children younger than 5 are minorities.
The new numbers offer a preview of demographic shifts to come, with broad implications for the nation’s schools, workforce and Social Security.

After all, the rationale will be they stole it anyway, just like the whites stole the American Southwest from Mexico after the Mexican-American War of 1848. It is interesting to note that the average white high school graduate probably doesn’t know the slightest thing about the 1848 war with Mexico, but the average mestizo high school graduate lives and breathes it! However, the white high school graduate probably knows much more about the Holocaust or about the life of MLK than the average mestizo.
What in the hell makes us as a race so damn complacent when it comes to racial matters? We are running out of time and space and soon will have to face the reality that non-whites do not give a tinker’s damn about our human and property rights! And when the non-whites get the political control of America, and it looks like they will, they are simply going to destroy and loot what is left of us as a people. Enjoy the declining white majority multicultural wonder land we are in now, because the non-white ruled future is going to be hell for whites in this country very soon!”

Correction.
The NYT’s article correctly stated that Patchogue is “more than an hour’s drive from Manhattan.” Not “an hour’s drive.” Actually, it’s a lot more than an hour; more like two. Google scores it two in traffic. This is not an insignificant point. The thing is, beyond a certain point on LI you’re outside the commute to the City zone. Guys out there work out there. The towns are more townie, if that makes sense. The 50’s-60’s-70’s suburban build-out worked differently out there. See also Joel Garreau’s The Nine Nations of North America. It’s not NYC out there; he places that part of LI in New England, not NYC and not The Foundry. It’s more pick-up trucks and farms and Lynyrd Skynyrd; or at least it was not too long ago. It’s a mostly white area.

…until the noveeua you know whos moved out to the hamptons it was pretty peaceful. i believe at one time , Mass. bay colony actually ‘owned’ that part of LI… geographically, its more Mass than NY. The plain fact is, most Long Islanders are sick to death of non-English-speaking immigrants. They are tired of not being able to access local shopping malls in places like Bridgehampton because of the migrants who swarm all over them, of having to compete with those migrants for work, of supporting the superfluous children of migrants, of having to dodge the swerving vehicles of drunken migrants on local roads, and of having to listen to local (but never national) news reports regarding (e.g.) Central American gang initiates attacking people, cutting their noses off, and so on, in the parking lots of the aforementioned malls.
The exceptions are confined to rich Jewish enclaves whose members appreciate the availability of low-cost labor to replenish their supplies of landscapers and servile domestics, which of course allows them to reserve their precious attention for truly important projects like playing the bigshots, displacing the local Whites, erecting unwelcome synagogues in White communities, forcing taxpayers and insurance companies to rebuild their multimillion-dollar beach bungalows on Dune Road (otherwise known as “the Gaza Strip”) every time a Nor’easter hits, and seeing to the important business of driving White society into the ground like a rusty railroad spike.
