Alex Kurtagic: United Kingdom Supreme Court Ruling: Jewish School Must Open Up to Multiculturalism

Alex Kurtagic: If Kevin MacDonald’s thesis is correct, and Jewish intellectuals have indeed been heavily involved in the development and promotion of multiculturalism, then this is the moment when their efforts have come back to bite them in the a**. The BBC reports this morning:

The Supreme Court has ruled that a Jewish school in London cannot restrict admission to pupils it considers to be ethnically Jewish.

Lord Phillips said the school was breaking race relations legislations by restricting its admissions. “The majority of the court has concluded that the JFS admission policy does discriminate on the grounds of ethnic origin and is, in consequence, unlawful,” he said.

It seems rather ironic, considering that multiculturalism seems to have enjoyed enormous support among Jews in Western countries (although, clearly, not in Israel).

The court case was brought about by the parents of boy “M.”, whose father is Jewish by birth and whose mother is Jewish by conversion. The problem was that

…the conversion ceremony was conducted by a Progressive rather than an Orthodox synagogue which is not recognised by the Office of the Chief Rabbi (OCR).

Perhaps even more interesting is the fact that Lord Phillips, the President of the Supreme Court in the United Kingdom, is of part-Jewish origin: his mother’s parents were Sephardic Jews, who immigrated from Alexandria. The leftist newspaper The Guardian lavishly praised him earlier this year, describing him as a “[l]iberal-minded master of lucidity” and “a judge with a reputation for scrupulous fairness.”

This highlights a major fault line between the progressive and the orthodox factions in the Jewish communities in the West. The progressives may well be regarded as a force of dissolution.

Personally, I welcome this move: White schools have long been forced to multiculturalize (in our case, it has been, at times, at gun point – see also here), and it is a good and healthy exercise for members of a community that seems to have been overwhelmingly in favour of multiculturalism to experience its strength in their own flesh. Maybe Jews who have so far been champions of enforced multiculturalism will now reconsider their position.

I have long argued that it is easy to champion multiculturalism when living in an ethnically homogeneous community, well insulated from the devastation of that heinous ideology; support for openly ethno-political movements has always been most fervent in ethnically diverse communities.

I welcome the part of Mr. Stern’s reply to my earlier post where he stated:

As a student of history and observer of current events, I do not support multiculturalism and so-called diversity, which I regard as sheer folly. Humans are biological creatures and are governed primarily by emotion, not abstract theories. They naturally associate with their own kind. I therefore fully support the idea of free association. I have absolutely no objection to the continuance of European white culture, which has every right to exist regardless of what other ethnic groups or races may think of it.

… I too regret the horrible sufferings inflicted on East Europeans and other peoples by those who belong to my ethnic group.

…I have come to the realization that the only viable solution for worldwide peace and stability is for each nation (ethnic group) to have its own “ethnostate” (the idea put forward by Wilmost [sic] Robertson). I recognize the right of European and all other peoples to maintain their own cultural and ethnic identity. As I stated at the beginning of my response, humans are territorial creatures and do not co-exist easily with thsoe perceived as outsiders. I learned that lesson early on in the schoolyard – the best laboratory for studying human behavior in a natural setting.

Let us hope that Mr. Stern is not alone in this view.

think about it. If we can support israel, which flies in the face of every idealogical principle groups like the ADL push on us, one school in England isn’t going to pose a much of a problem for the jewish elite.
in fact, i wouldn’t be surprised to see this spun into a case of ‘anti semitism’

“the progressive and the orthodox factions in the Jewish communities in the West. The progressives may well be regarded as a force of dissolution”

No, the reason 70,000 Ethiopian ‘jews’ live in Israel is to stop any repetition of UN General Assembly Resolution 3379 -1975 “Zionism Is Racism”.

Not an ideal situation for Orthodox rabbis but the progressives (who are more adroit defenders of Zionism thought it was necessary to have an answer to accusations of not playing the diversity game.

Now the UK’s Jewish schools have an answer to similar accusations, yet they will be able to stay much as they are with only a token few ‘jews’ to ward off the criticism. They won’t be changed as Catholic schools have been .

  3. From what I have seen, Israel is indifferent to U.N. resolutions – particularly as, in their case, the charming people in the Israeli government know that nothing ever happens when these are breached. The real test will come if Catholic parents decide to send their child to a Jewish school – something they could very well decide to do, since Jews are taught to be conscientious and encouraged to be high achievers, and Catholic schools have been watered down. Should the child be refused admission, litigation could be launched as a test case, following the exact same procedure as “Civil Rights” campaigners have done in the past. Either the school would have to comply and admit the child, if the judgment goes against the school, or Jewish lobbyists could campaign to have the law changed, in which case it would be weakened overall. Of course, they may well find a way to construct a convoluted legal word-cage designed to let them have their cake and eat it, but this is not by any means guaranteed, and could open the law to new challenges.

  4. Someday says:

The Israelis were alarmed by 3379

“Israel made revocation of resolution 3379 a condition of its participation in the Madrid Peace Conference of 1991.”

“[John H.} Sununu ... was the only governor of a U.S. state not to call for repeal of...l UN General Assembly Resolution 3379 ("Zionism is Racism"). He later reversed his position on this issue and supported the Republicans' pro-Israel 1988 platform"

Yet another defect in UK law.

"The judgment is a remarkable document. It begins with a quote from Deuteronomy, as the basis of the laws against intermarriage, refers later to famous converts, such as Ruth, Onkelos and Rabbi Akiva, and throughout shows the greatest respect for Judaism and Jewish law.

"Jewish law has enabled the Jewish people and the Jewish religion to survive throughout centuries of discrimination and persecution. The world would be a poorer place if they had not" is how one of the justices put it.[...]

The justices have given Parliament the biggest possible hint that the law needs to be changed.”

    They don’t need a workaround.

Look, with all of the laws against discrimination in America, Jews have created a few all-Jewish towns.

    How is this possible?

Nobody but Jews wants to be around lots of Jews. This is a total non-threat. This is an intra-Jew squabble.

So, if you’re expecting to get some help from them on this score, think again.

Fortunately we don’t actually need their help.
