Alex Kurtagic: The Tedious Canard of White Evil

Alex Kurtagic: In a recent blog Kevin MacDonald remarked that the word “canard” appeared to be Abraham Foxman’s ADL’s favourite word. It seems, therefore, that I am not the only one who has noticed this peculiar aspect of Mr. Foxman’s vocabulary. Here are some examples: 

“It was shocking to hear Marlon Brando, the acclaimed actor and champion of civil rights, invoke the anti-Semitic canard that “Hollywood is run by Jews, it is owned by Jews…” … comments raise the centuries-old canard of Jewish control and conspiracy”

“This is a new variation of the ancient blood libel. The only difference is that today we have the Internet, which enables a hateful canard to spread, not just door to door or village to village, but globally in a matter of nanoseconds.”

“These findings are especially disturbing because they show that the old, classical form of anti-Semitism, which we had hoped was long gone in Europe, continues to be resilient. It is alarming in this post-Holocaust, post-September 11, world to find that one in five believe the age-old canards about Jews.”

“While there have always beenthe likes of the Pat Buchanans, the Joseph Sobrans, and anti-Semites, what is disturbing today is that those extremists are being joined by a voices in the antiwar movement and the media, on the left and the right, who are promoting a canard that America’s going to war has little to do with disarming Saddam, but everything to do with Jews, the “Jewish lobby” and the hawkish Jewish members of the Bush Administration who, according to this chorus, will favor any war that benefits Israel and the Jews.”

“A Holocaust museum is torched by an arsonist. Jewish institutions are daubed with swastikas. A religious leader’s anti-Semitic tirade is resoundingly received. An elected official says Jews can stop the war in Iraq. A mainstream columnist feeds into the canard of Jewish control. A poet laureate blames Jews for the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks … The classic canards of ‘Jews control,’ ‘Jews are responsible’ and ‘Jews are not loyal’ continue to be peddled in America.”

“I say all of this because in a moment of financial crisis such as we are living through today, the old canard rises like a Phoenix.”

“As you know, the thieving Jew is an age-old anti-Semitic canard that still, unfortunately, has great currency today.”

“Under Chavez’s regime, anti-Semitism is used as a political tool.  Some government officials in Venezuela frequently resort to implicit and explicit anti-Semitic displays, including rehashing the ancient canard about Jewish control, vilifying Jews and Israel as agents of imperialism, and adopting anti-Semitic stereotypes about Jewish financial influence.”

“It is outrageous that the Jewish community’s effort to engage in dialogue with church officials is being portrayed by some groups as a ‘Jewish pressure’ campaign. The canardof Jewish pressure and control has played a role throughout history in fomenting anti-Semitism and hate against Jews.”

“This is true in Germany, where 55% agree with the age-old canard that Jews are more loyal to Israel than their own country and 32% believe Jews have too much power in business.”

“In a world where anti-Semitism is on the rise and the classical canard that ‘the Jews killed Jesus’ is being promulgated, Mr. Gibson has unfortunately become a contributor.”

And, finally, although not necessarily authored by Mr. Foxman himself, the article about Prof. Kevin MacDonald, like many other press releases and articles in the ADL website, uses it too: 

“Instead, MacDonald relies on the old anti-Semitic canard that one group, ‘the Jews,’  is responsible for all perceived deficiencies in American culture, and cannot be trusted to work for the common welfare of a democratic society.”

It occurs to me that we too could use this word, with exactly same frequency, to highlight the innumerable anti-White canards invented, circulated, and perpetuated by the enemies of the White race. We could speak, for example, of the “malicious canard of White evil”, the “tiresome canard of White racism in modern society”, the “odious canard of ‘only Whites can be racist’”, the “canard of opposing multiculturalism being Nazi”, the “insulting canard of discussing race differences in IQ leading, always and inevitably, straight to compulsory castrations and death camps”, and so on.

In fact, I think the word should be used over and over again, hammered in without mercy, until the enemy (and by enemy I do not necessarily mean only Mr. Foxman or his ADL, but anyone who makes anti-White statements, irrespective of race, age, creed, gender, disability, or sexual orientation) – until the enemy, I say, turns blue in the face.

Using the enemy’s own tactics is not always advisable, and certainly not something I would recommend in all cases, as I think we should play by our own rules, use our own tactics, and rely on our own concepts and dychotomies, and not be shaped by those of our opponents. But I do think it is both gratifying and profitable on occasion to throw our opponents’ malice back on their faces with calculated irony, to short-circuit their propaganda machine through trivializing parody.

Remember: there is nothing the enemy fears more than our laughter. And certainly, laughter is a highly effective and efficient weapon, which instantly generates openness and goodwill by making one seem popular and easygoing, and which instantly neutralizes an opponent, no matter how intelligent and well informed, by making him seem like a tedious windbag. So let us use the old guerrilla tactic of stealing the enemy’s weapon and using it against him; let us start shooting down those pesky Europhobic canards, wherever they appear.

A new front for religious battles: Hotels and restaurants 

The “Lobby for Jewish values” this week began operating against restaurants and hotels that plan to put up Christmas trees and other Christian symbols ahead of Christmas and the civil New Year. 

According to the lobby’s Chairman, Ofer Cohen, they have received backing by the rabbis, “and we are even considering publishing the names of the businesses that put up Christian symbols ahead of the Christian holiday and call for a boycott against them.” 

Fliers and ads distributed among the public read, “The people of Israel have given their soul over the years in order to maintain the values of the Torah of Israel and the Jewish identity. 

“You should also continue to follow this path of the Jewish people’s tradition and not give in to the clownish atmosphere of the end of the civil year. And certainly not help those businesses that sell or put up the foolish symbols of Christianity.” 

The Jerusalem Rabbinate also works each year to ensure restaurants and hotels receiving kosher certification from the Jerusalem Religious Council do not put up Christian symbols. 

According to a senior official in the kashrut department, this is done each year consensually, but that businesses which do not meet this requirement may find their kashrut certificate revoked. 

It should be noted that most of the hotels in Jerusalem and a significant part of the restaurants in the capital receive permanent kosher certification from the city’s religious council. 

Considering that there is a signficant Christian caucus that is staunchly pro-Israel and whose members even put their money where their mouths are, it would appear that, were these Christians ever to visit that troubled country around this time of the year, they would be disappointed, encountering absolutely no concessions to their faith. Sadly, these Christians, being wet and limp-wristed, meekly take any amount of scorn or abuse without a word of complaint; they are too scared to offend anyone. I do not respect them at all. Being, as they are, enthusiastic champions of multiculturalism, I would respect them somewhat if they demonstrated the courage of their convictions by demanding, vociferously and with righteous anger, tolerance and diversity in the Jewish state – including the right for hotels and restaurants to display Christmas trees, if they so wish, without threats or sanctions. 

Come to think of it, however, I think the Jewish lobby has an excellent initiative that the West should emulate. The Christmas tree is important, even if one is not a Christian, as it has its roots in Germanic and Roman paganism. Hotels and restaurants that fail to display Christmas trees should be punished with a withholding of custom, accompanied by naming and shaming, of which they should be made aware. What we are lacking is the equivalent of the Jewish kosher certification. It seems a shame that we have not developed an authochtonous völkisch certification: one that is prestigious and requires exacting criteria, rigorous standards, periodic inspections, and annual fees; and which entails the right to display proudly a badge or seal that indicates to users of the business’ goods and services that these are a) of excellent quality, and b) actively contributing to the continuance and advancement of traditional European culture and values. If such a certification existed (I can dream), the threat of revocation, and the shame and vituperation that would ideally follow, would be an added weapon in the arsenal of opprobium against businesses that suddenly developed socially and culturally obnoxious practices.

Alex Kurtagic: United Kingdom Supreme Court Ruling: Jewish School Must Open Up to Multiculturalism

Alex Kurtagic: If Kevin MacDonald’s thesis is correct, and Jewish intellectuals have indeed been heavily involved in the development and promotion of multiculturalism, then this is the moment when their efforts have come back to bite them in the a**. The BBC reports this morning: 

The Supreme Court has ruled that a Jewish school in London cannot restrict admission to pupils it considers to be ethnically Jewish.  

Lord Phillips said the school was breaking race relations legislations by restricting its admissions. … “The majority of the court has concluded that the JFS admission policy does discriminate on the grounds of ethnic origin and is, in consequence, unlawful,” he said. 

It seems rather ironic, considering that multiculturalism seems to have enjoyed enormous support among Jews in Western countries (although, clearly, not in Israel). 

The court case was brought about by the parents of boy “M.”, whose father is Jewish by birth and whose mother is Jewish by conversion. The problem was that 

…the conversion ceremony was conducted by a Progressive rather than an Orthodox synagogue which is not recognised by the Office of the Chief Rabbi (OCR). 

Perhaps even more interesting is the fact that Lord Phillips, the President of the Supreme Court in the United Kingdom, is of part-Jewish origin: his mother’s parents were Sephardic Jews, who immigrated from Alexandria. The leftist newspaper The Guardian lavishly praised him earlier this year, describing him as a “[l]iberal-minded master of lucidity” and “a judge with a reputation for scrupulous fairness.” 

This highlights a major fault line between the progressive and the orthodox factions in the Jewish communities in the West. The progressives may well be regarded as a force of dissolution. 

Personally, I welcome this move: White schools have long been forced to multiculturalize (in our case, it has been, at times, at gun point – see also here), and it is a good and healthy exercise for members of a community that seems to have been overwhelmingly in favour of multiculturalism to experience its strength in their own flesh. Maybe Jews who have so far been champions of enforced multiculturalism will now reconsider their position. 

I have long argued that it is easy to champion multiculturalism when living in an ethnically homogeneous community, well insulated from the devastation of that heinous ideology; support for openly ethno-political movements has always been most fervent in ethnically diverse communities. 

I welcome the part of Mr. Stern’s reply to my earlier post where he stated: 

As a student of history and observer of current events, I do not support multiculturalism and so-called diversity, which I regard as sheer folly. Humans are biological creatures and are governed primarily by emotion, not abstract theories. They naturally associate with their own kind. I therefore fully support the idea of free association. I have absolutely no objection to the continuance of European white culture, which has every right to exist regardless of what other ethnic groups or races may think of it.

… I too regret the horrible sufferings inflicted on East Europeans and other peoples by those who belong to my ethnic group.

…I have come to the realization that the only viable solution for worldwide peace and stability is for each nation (ethnic group) to have its own “ethnostate” (the idea put forward by Wilmost [sic] Robertson). I recognize the right of European and all other peoples to maintain their own cultural and ethnic identity. As I stated at the beginning of my response, humans are territorial creatures and do not co-exist easily with thsoe perceived as outsiders. I learned that lesson early on in the schoolyard – the best laboratory for studying human behavior in a natural setting. 

Let us hope that Mr. Stern is not alone in this view.

Alex Kurtagic: Narcissism

Alex Kurtagic: I and other contributors to The Occidental Observer have received the following email from one  Joel Stern, who currently holds a position as translator at the U.S. Department of State: 

Ladies and Gentlemen:

I’m an American Jew whose aunt and cousins in Czechoslovakia and Hungary were exterminated in WW II (presumably in Auschwitiz, although I have no actual confirmation of their fate).

For the past several months I’ve been reading the articles in TQO and TOO. The common thread between them is the genetically and culturally alien nature of and countless misfortunes inflicted by Jews in their host countries.

Leaving aside the validity or flimsiness of your arguments, what do you personally envisage as the solution to the “Judenfrage”? Mass expulsion from the West? Segregation in ghettos? A quota system in education and other drastic steps to protect the vulnerable gentile population? Conversion to Christianity and eventual assimilation through intermarriage? Massacres by Einsatzgruppen? (I have no doubt that enough volunteers for this task could be found among sundry Christian Identity and National Alliance types.) Nuclear annihilation of Israel?

I have yet to see even one serious, comprehensive proposal put forward by the TQO and TOO writers with respect to this matter.

 I think Mr. Stern oversimplifies when he alleges that the common thread uniting contributors’ articles is Jews: I, for example, write about the White condition and have only occasionally made passing mention of Jewish intellectual movements. (This is not to say I may not choose to write about Jews in future; but, for now, I am interested in Whiteness.) Mr. Stern’s allegation betrays, perhaps, a certain narcissism: he has obviously been looking only for references to his brethren, and been blind to everything else. Having said this, I would like to invite Mr. Stern to join the debate by contributing with his own proposed solution(s). For myself I will read it with great interest.

Meanwhile, and in view of the comments you have made with regard to a past German government, will you take this opportunity to forcefully and inequivocally condemn Israeli atrocities against the Palestinians, and actively lobby for a halt to their unjust persecution and harassment by the Israeli government? Will you express your righteous anger at, and abhorrence of, Palestinian inequality before the law in the Jewish state, and demand equal rights to all peoples within Israel’s jurisdiction, irrespective or race, ancestry, and nationality? Will you publicly deplore the civilian deaths and the destruction of Palestinian property by the Israeli government, and clamour for a public apology and restitution? We would find your moral outrage a reassuring first step.

Alex Kurtagic: What Our Politicians Have Done for Us

Alex Kurtagic: Despite Andrew Neathers’ admission in October to the existence of a secret criminal conspiracy at the core of war criminal Tony Blair’s corrupt Labour government, involving Jack Straw and Barbara Roche, which sought to make the country more multicultural (or, more honestly, multiracial) in order to demoralise the Right, we see today yet more spin on the issue of immigration. The BBC (which did not report on the conspiracy) now reports:

The number of people from overseas living in the UK reached a record high of 6.7 million last year, the Office for National Statistics has said.

In its annual overview of population figures, the ONS said 11% of people had been born abroad.

Nearly 25% of all births in England and Wales in 2008 were to foreign-born women – another record.

Maybe. But what is the percentage returning home? And returning home for good, as opposed to temporarily? 

The births to foreign-born women made up 170,834 out of the total of 708,711. Immigrants from Eastern Europe, for example, had 25,000 children. 

The focus on Eastern Europeans, who can easily assimilate, is a transparent distraction; what really upsets people is the huge influx of non-European immigrants, who come from the poorest regions of the world, constitute a low-IQ population, have a higher-than-average propensity to commit violent crime, regard the country and Europe in general as an economic resource, and are, too often, religious zealots who despise Western European culture and actively seek to change it and the laws in their direction.

The statistics agency also projected that the UK’s population would increase by nearly 10 million in the next 25 years, a rate which is almost double that recorded in the last quarter of a century. The ONS estimated there would be 71.6 million people living here by 2033, up from 61.4 million now. Mr Woolas cautioned that previous attempts to estimate future populations had been wildly inaccurate.

“These population projections do not take into account the impact of future government policies or those Eastern Europeans who came here, contributed, and are now going home,” he said. 

Again, maybe. But those future government policies may well also lead to increases in immigration. So far the rate of immigration has increased through successive Labour and Conservative governments. Woolas knows it is the high levels of non-European immigration that upsets people and is, therefore, in damage-control mode, misleading, obscuring, and distracting with rhetoric and spin.

“Projections are uncertain. For instance in the 1960s they said our population would reach 76 million by the year 2000. This was off target by 16 million. 

“And let’s be clear, the category ‘foreign-born mothers’ includes British people born overseas, such as children whose parents are in the Armed Forces or those who come to Britain at a very early age.

And let’s be clear also, those Britons are probably a small percentage, unless the term “British” is used in a purely abstract, legalistic way.

“Overall, net-migration is falling, showing that migrants come to the UK for short periods of time, work, contribute to the economy and then return home.” 

Oh, really? So how come the ONS is not projecting an overall decline in numbers?

Liberal Democrat home affairs spokesman Chris Huhne said: “It is difficult for anyone to accurately forecast the population now, let alone in 30 years, after Labour and the Tories abandoned exit checks.
“We cannot know how many people live here if we do not count people out as well as in. Some parts of the country, like Scotland, need and want more population 

Even if this were so, I am sure people there would also need and want to continue to feel at home, in communities that they recognise as their own, and would rather not end up living in a crime-ridden, alienated, fractured, run-down, multiracial infernos, like London, Birmingham, Bradford, and other cities. 25 years is enough time to autochtonously replace an ageing population. 

while others, like the South East, are at the limit of environmental sustainability.”

Finally some sense, although the problem is not merely environmental, but also social, cultural, and political.

How hollow does Tony Blair’s 1997 general election victory speech sound now.

What is especially depressing is the knowledge that the Conservatives will be no different. If and when David Cameron becomes Prime Minister, it will be business as usual: more immigration, more crime, more surveillance, more inflation, more propaganda, more McDonaldization, more ur, more political correctness, more laws, and more confiscatory taxation to pay for it all.

Alex Kurtagic: Shut Down Useless Socialist Programs

Alex Kurtagic: The useless and corrupt Labour government has saddled each man, woman, and child in the United Kingdom with tens of thousands of pounds of debt, not only through endemic mismanagement, waste, short-sightedness, knee-jerk reaction, political correctness, and bungling idiocy, but also through their attempts at bailing out the greedy banks. Short of a miracle, this debt cannot and will never be paid: in a monetary system where money is backed by nothing, and is therefore created through debt, were all debts in the economy to be paid, there would be not one penny in circulation. Yet, for electoral reasons, as well as out of a fear of public unrest (which could, given the right set of circumstances, lead to revolution and the current establishment being swept out of power and their ideas purged from all institutions), useless and corrupt Labour politicians realize that they needs to be seen to be doing something to cut the chronic fiscal deficits: after all with national debt projected to hit 100% in four years’ time, the United Kingdom’s fiscal situation is the worst of the G20 countries.

   As part of his electoral and public relations initiative, Prime Minister Gordon Brown has announced a drive to cut the ballooning budget deficit. The talk is, as usual, about making “tough decisions”. But the savings are puny in relation to the debt: a mere £3bn versus a yearly borrowing of £175bn – less than 0.25% of GDP versus a 13% deficit. At the same time, the useless and corrupt Labour government is funding the completely irrelevant and counter-productive Department for International Development to the tune of £5.7bn, and is planning to increase that to £7.8 for the year 2010-11. (The Conservatives, the new New Labour, have stated their resolve to “protect the international development budget from spending cuts”, no matter what the circumstances) Therefore, talk of “tough decisions” is piffle. And piffle that conceals the government’s betrayal of the people whose interests they are supposed to represent (and never seem to do): they have impoverished Britons while giving away national wealth to foreign nations that have no love for Britain except as a resource they can exploit – and, unless removed from the seats of power, they plan on doing this even more, for as long as there are people on the planet whose standard of living falls short of Western standards.

   Here is an idea: close down the Department for International Development and bring those annual savings up to £11bn. The DFID should not exist. As I have argued before, “Development” is a euphemism for cultural imperialism, whereby utopian liberals seek to force Third World societies into convergence with the Western European model, to create a world of placid, apolitical, coffee-colored consumers, where the latter are farmed for tax money and the liberal oligarchs stay in power forever. (After all, larger markets mean richer capitalist plutocrats who are better able to fund liberal politicians.) “Development” is also an euphemism for the European champagne liberals’ pathological and chronic feelings of guilt: champagne liberals (who are informed by their cousins, the utopian liberals) are disturbed when they see there are people who live (from the point of view of their Western European eyes) less comfortably than they do, and feel a quasi-religious urge to do something about it, if only so that they do not feel so terribly bad when they sit in their double-glazed, centrally-heated, well-furnished living rooms in the evenings – “development” is, in other words, the secular version of Christian missionary work. Yes, close down the DFID. The Third World does not need “developing”. Let the peoples of the Third World decide the form and organization of their own societies, with their own resources, according to their own temperament, values, and capabilities, and accept that the resulting societies may end up looking somewhat different from those of the West. Even if we find some aspects of indigenous Third World societies repulsive, liberals need to realize that whatever the peoples of the Third World find works for them is their prerogative. Aside from the fact that the futile efforts to Westernize Third World societies (particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa) has been one of the key agents of instability and dysfunction in the region, we have serious enough financial problems here to be worrying about whether our liberals here find Third World societies pretty enough for their tastes.
